This is the continuation of my recent Bintan Trip for Day 2. You may read Day 1 here 🙂
We started our second day with a hearty complimentary breakfast at our resort.
There were also sections where you can opt for extra dishes such as eggs (sunny side up, omelette or hard boiled egg) as well as waffles with either chocolate or maple syrup.
And then the sky became overcast… but still, we decided to explore around.
But then it decided to pour… so we had to head back to our resort rooms…
View taken from balcony.
It wasn’t the best weather to visit Bintan but because we didn’t want to waste anymore time, we decided to proceed to Bintan Argo Beach Resort which was just nearby.
Argo indeed have more facilities such as karaoke rooms, more pool tables, swimming pool etc. And yes, they have quite a good rating on Trip Advisor too.
After reaching Argo via shuttle bus arranged by our resort hotel..
At the entrance of Argo…
Lies a vintage volkswagen.
Argo’s resort rooms.
And their swimming pool.
And the other inner area of Argo.
With all the walking, our stomachs were growling for help and so we started our little exploration to the little cafe restaurant nearby.
At the entrance of the restaurant and because it is located in the waters, something similar to kelongs, it was a long walk before we could reach the restaurant.
Yes, with my bare face.
And our mandatory couple shots.
And then we had to do a ‘MTV’ photoshoot, LOL.
The rooms at the side are the spa massage rooms.
If you want to opt for a closer to nature view, try the alfresco style. But as you can see, it was raining so the grounds were wet 😦
A kelong faraway. Testing out my camera’s zoom functions.
This is how their indoor cafe restaurant looks like.
Food reviews below 🙂
We dined there for lunch.
Being a small eater, I had this fish&chips which was under the ‘Appetizer’ section but turned out to be a really complete main dish instead.
However, I must say that the food at Agro were really good, even my fish&chips. K-couple both had the fried rice and they finished every bit of it, so I reckoned it must be delicious too 🙂
And so did bf with his 2nd round of Ayam Penyet in Bintan, LOL.
Another highlight of out lunch was this chicken satay which we were surprised to find out that it actually tastes quite good.
We also concluded that it’s better than our local ones where we usually get loads of fats instead of real juicy meat.
Although the satays were filled chunks by chunks and not a one whole piece, which you can’t see here because it’s well-covered by the gravy sauce, we still thought that it’s definitely more worth it than the ones filled with fats.
After filling out tummies, we continued to explore the surroundings of Argo.
And we spotted a mosque afar.
And how some of their resort looks like.
And then we continued walking and walking…
And the guys, being young at heart, turned into boys…and started playing tic-tac-toe 0.0
And poor bf who still has to entertain calls from clients even when awhile on a vacation. 😦
By the way, I know what’s running through your mind after seeing pictures of my bf, that he’s an beng.
I’m sorry, he’s not and no, neither does he smokes.
I get that very often, with people asking me these same old questions over and over again.
But no he’s definitely not one.
Ah bengs – not my cup of tea.
And neither am I an ah lian, please.
After digesting, we headed back to our resort to rest awhile before starting on our sea adventure!
It was raining again and thus, we couldn’t do much… I was heartened to know that Bintan Spa Villa’s staff were also concerned about the visitors’ safety as they didn’t allow us to try out the sea sports when it was raining heavily.
We prayed for the rain to die down and proceeded with our island boat tour to White Island, situated just opposite of our Spa villa!
Yes, we had to sit on the sides of the boat. Not sure if I’m suaku or what, but I was a little taken aback when we were told to sit on the sides.
No, actually everyone else knew we had to sit on the sides, except me.
I was actually preparing to sit inside the boat initially… Paiseh much.
There wasn’t much support, except for the black handles you see attached on the side. I didn’t really like it because I felt that it was a bad posture.
I bet the small K and I felt super safe when we have extra protection from our guys, with them grabbing our hands tight too 🙂 ❤
The volleyball area which we did play.
A super candid shot. Not sure why I wasn’t ready. Maybe there was sea water in my eye or sand on my face, or both.
And yes, bare face again because you don’t expect me to get into the water with make-up on right…?
We were so soaked because we swam a little in the sea near the shore and pretending that we were really going to swim much, bf and I brought our goggles along.
We never regretted because we got to see many fishes up close and personal. It’s more like snorkelling!
I spotted them first *proud*
Group photo! 😀
We spent 2 hours there and didn’t visit other island except White Island.
We took the boat back but I wasn’t as afraid and tensed up as compared to the 1st round. I felt more relaxed 🙂
After bathing and cleaning up, we went back to Argo again for dinner 🙂
Mandatory selfie of OOTD 🙂
Didn’t edit the pictures by brightening up so as to allow you to know how dark the place gets when night falls.
And yes, it was indeed a little freaky walking on these wooden planks at night and the sea was so dark….
Finally settled down and we chose to sit outdoors… but changed our minds later because it was so dark that we were a little skeptical because of the worm found in our food in Day 1…
Bf said this pic depicts the “每一个成功的男人背后都有一个女人” (behind every successful man there is a woman) image.
The waters were quite shallow.
The food was quite tasty and we enjoyed all our meals we had there, so regardless of where you’re gonna put up at, be it Spa Villa or Argo resort, do patronise the restaurant! It’s walkable distance from the lobby of Argo, if you’re unsure, just ask the receptionist 🙂
Headed back to our own resort and decided to slack awhile at the lobby, while spamming their wifi again! 😀
Then we got bored again. LOL, and decided to light up the sky lantern known as 孔明灯 in Chinese.
So we were writing our wishes and all… and I totally had a mental block, but ended up writing an essay anyways (as usual). Of course, I wrote in English, although my Mandarin isn’t that lousy okay!
Okay, yes the words stringed in sentences were written by me. I could have continued writing but I decided to stop in case my hand takes a life on its own again.
The hotel staff helping us to light up the lantern.
After all the fun we had, we had a little mini supper – cup noodles and movie of our own back in our hotel and because we are all old bones, we turned in rather early 🙂
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading! 😀
Do drop me a comment if you need to ask anything and I will try my best to answer! 🙂
