[Beauty Review] Love Alpha Fibre Mascara

I have been wearing falsies/fake eyelashes for quite some time now, approx for 6 years? Haha! And I’ve been wanting to stop wearing them for a more natural look but because my natural eyelashes are extremely short, I have been trying to grow them out wish eyelash serum and tonic. Results can  be said to be effective but nothing fantastic. More on that later.

While I was “window-shopping” on Qoo10, I chanced upon this highly raved mascara – Love Alpha Fibre MascaraJust so you know that this isn’t a paid advertorial or sponsorship. I paid $11.90 +$1.50 normal postage fee for it which amounts to $13.40.

A few bucks more expensive than its promo price.

The packaging is indeed pretty and although there are other mascaras which comes in such packaging, this is my first time seeing this!

This is how it looks when applied :

Now, for the reviews…

Pros :

  1. It really does lengthen and volumise your lashes
  2. Easy to apply with minimal steps
  3. Pretty packaging

Cons :

  1. I really loathe how it clumps, clumps and keeps on clumping! I’ve tried twice and 4 times altogether (because you have a pair of eyes?) but it still clumps….
  2. The correct method is to apply the fiber at mid-length and ends of the lashes but…it still clumps!
  3. 2-way method is definitely more troublesome than those mascaras which already have fibre in them – am now trying another mascara from Loreal, will blog about it soon 🙂
  4. Seller claims its authentic but I can guarantee and her attitude and customer service is not fantastic as reflected in the reviews
  5. Takes a longer time to apply compared to other mascara – definitely not for those rushing in the morning to work

Will I recommend this product?

The answer is NO.

It may be cheap but I can’t guarantee the authenticity despite the authenticity sticker and clumping mascara is definitely a BIG NO-NO! I don’t know if the problem lies with me or what but some others didn’t face this problem, and perhaps practice does make perfect…?

WIN PRETTY APPARELS!

Hello you! Here’s a little update on my current life right now. Previously, I’d mentioned that I will be going on a hiatus for awhile due to exams and yes, I’m still having exams which would only end this Friday.

For those who don’t already know, I’m currently pursuing my Master of Laws… So yes, I’m taking a postgraduate course. I feel flattered that some people still thinks I’m an undergrad because it only means 1 thing, that I still look young right? And that I’m still able to pull off as an undergrad. HAHAHA. Self-denial.

So anyway, I’ll be updating this space more often once the nightmarish days are over. Nightmarish days – how ironic, heh. Will be updating on food and beauty reviews so stay tuned! 🙂

Nevertheless, thanks for checking back on this little unpopular dusty virtual space of mine, really really appreciate it 🙂

Weekend without YOU.

The bf is coming home tonight but at a godly hour at 1-2plus in the morning, sg time! I didn’t manage to send him off for his bkk trip with his group of friends and neither am I going to pick him up from the airport tonight, or technically speaking, tomorrow morning. But one thing for sure is that we will be meeting tomorrow after work. Lucky him, as he doesn’t have to work tomorrow as he took leave to rest for the day. I bet he didn’t have sufficient rest over at bkk either.

Surprisingly, I braved through the weekend without bf and had some time to myself and friends. 🙂

Dined with sis and her friends (whom I know too) at Ministry of Food at Marina Square, had Ramen and proceeded to have some sinful ice creams at Cold Stone Creamery at Citylink mall. But sorry, no pics 😦

Met up with the bestie on Saturday for shopping!

And here are my loots from Bugis Street :

Personally, I don’t fancy expensive clothes and shoes. I prefer getting cheap ones, although quality may be compromised, but it still gives me the kick of getting good deals. But I know the costs aren’t that high too anyway, if they can sell at the price. I prefer splurging on branded bags 🙂

We wanted to head to Around de World for dinner but ended up at Manhanttan Fish Market at Bugis +, all because it was pouring 😦

But I’m sure we would have the chance to try it out in the near future! 🙂

Bestie 🙂

Me! 😀

And before we parted, we camwhored a little.

Apologies for the bad quality and awkward smiles (on me) because we were rushing off to catch the coming buses… LOL. Stressful u know!

To bestie : Thank you for being my bestie for the 13th year and counting! I MUST SAY THAT WE ARE REALLY OLD!

But nevertheless, thank you for staying the same and remaining true. I am glad that we have actually bonded closer than before. I’m also glad that we get along well with each other’s bf and double date for us is no problem at all. I can’t wait to be your maid-of-honour at your wedding! 🙂 ❤

***

And for Sunday, it was a stay-home one for me but was nevertheless tiring to the max because I spring cleaned my room! Like finally, I know!

Mom was like, “Wah, cleaning your room only after 25yrs!”  -.-

GASP.

I was never a fan of getting things organised, cleaned and packed in my room/desk because I believe that things will get messy eventually, which I have proved my own belief to be true. LOL. It’s like how I’ve never believed that there is a compelling need to make your bed since you would be using it again at night, and in fact everyday?

Okay, don’t judge me.

So I cleared my stuffs, packed and organised them, threw those unwanted stuffs… and of course, credit goes to my maid who helped too in the process with the additional help of mopping and vacuuming…

Had to clear tonnes of clothes too so as to make new space for my bursting new collection. I’ve been so addicted to online shopping and I still am! Oh gosh, seriously have to control my expenditure. 😦

And what’s worse is that, I’m still not done clearing my unwanted old clothes! I’ve already gathered 2 big bags (those black garbage bags) waiting to donate to charity – most likely The Salvation Army, and I’m sure there will still be tonnes left to give away! 😦

By the way, look what I’ve found!

NO RULES SHIRTS! ZOMG. HAHAHA!

Anyway, I know The Salvation Army only picks up furniture or bulky items but I’m hoping that these huge big bags of clothes would be considered as ‘bulky’ too. I can’t possibly drive them to the nearest outlet to drop them off, since I doubt there would be sufficient space in the car and boot? I think 2 big bags are enough to take up the whole lot of space of the car boot already.

And plus, I’m too lazy/busy to bring them down… My dad might not like to idea of this hassle too 😦

Will contact them and see how!

Crossing fingers 🙂

Hoped your weekend was good too ❤

xoxo,

Jean 🙂
